After training in 2011, Agnes became a certified member of the International Society for Emotion Focused Couples Therapy (ICEEFT) and combines this approach with Schema Therapy in couples/family work.

In 2020, Agnes was invited by the International Society of Schema Therapy (ISST) to write an article detailing the integration between the two models.

Agnes founded the Counselling Pastoral Trust (CPT) in 1993 in order to help individuals to break through negative behaviours, and recover from chronic stress/anxiety and depression. For more information about receiving individual or group therapy at the Counselling Pastoral Trust, please click here. In 2009, she also founded the Schema Therapy institute in London 2009, CPT formed The Schema Therapy Institute to provide training, supervision and certification preparation for clinicians working across the UK and Europe who want to practice Schema Therapy. Agnes developed the Life Skills – ‘Learning to Live, Learning to Love’ curriculum in the UK. Learning to Live, Learning to Love is based on the belief that once we have information we are able to make different choices and we break damaging cycles. Learning to Live, Learning to Love groups have been running since 1993 and have helped reduce breakdown, abuse and other problems as well as promoting the education and well-being of over 4000 individuals and families.

As an emotionally focussed therapist, she runs couples workshops using Dr. Sue Johnsons ‘Hold me Tight’ programme. These workshops aim to enhance relationships by helping couples regain connection and change their unhealthy patterns. These workshops usually involve several couples working alongside Agnes and other therapists to apply the core principles of ‘Hold Me Tight’. These workshops are invaluable in reflecting on the current patterns of a relationship, and in working to build new bonds.
